When you really stop to think about the amount of germs you expose yourself to on a daily basis - it's pretty creepy. I found myself thinking about this lately. Now I must admit, even thought I'm not really a squeamish guy with it comes to blood and gore, I am totally freaked out by germs.

GREAT BAY—Local R&B artist J Lyrics has released this week a new single “Valerie did me so.” The song, based a true story where a guy catches his girlfriend cheating on him in what J Lyrics calls a “69 position,” is said to be controversial. Valerie, J Lyrics said, is the actual name of the girl who he said is from St. Martin but currently resides in France.

While airlines are desperately looking for ways to extract more cash from their passengers, Princess Juliana International Airport is going the other way. Airlines are bent on charging more for excess luggage, and Jet Blue will start charging passengers for pillows and blankets. Many carriers have already dropped free food, but you don’t hear many people complain about that aspect—the food was nothing special to start with.

GREAT BAY—The Island Government this week released the 28 monuments on the monuments lists. This is in accordance with article 5 of the Island Monuments Ordinance St. Maarten (AB2000, Nr. 1). The Executive Council makes known that in its meetings of 26-07-05 and 04-03-08, it has been decided to declare the following twenty-eight (28) properties as protected monuments:

GREAT BAY—Delta is adding an additional weekly flight to St. Maarten for the winter season commencing December 20, 2008, but that is no reason to reason jump up for joy, according to Director of Tourism Regina Labega. The round-trip flight will use a 737 aircraft with a seating capacity of 124.
