State Council kicks Fleming out of office

MARIGOT – The French State Council has stripped Collectivité d’Outre Mer de St. Martin President Louis-Constant Fleming of his functions for one year because Fleming violated campaign financing rules during last year’s elections. The one-year ban went into effect as of last Friday, July 25. In 2002, the Council also banned Fleming for one year from politics for a similar offence. Read More Add Comment (0)

A Dutch septuagenarian with a love for begonias got an unexpected visit from Amsterdam police officers after they discovered marijuana plants among his flowers. The old man promised the officers to destroy the plants that were planted there by local youngsters, he said.
